A very warm welcome and a few new ways to stay connected to one another: Image of the Day, Resources for Families, and Resources for Teachers


Liz Harvey joined VTS in 2009. Liz’s work in arts education encompasses work with children, families, and adults in a variety of settings ranging from community centers, schools, universities, and museums to youth detention centers. Liz has taught and led programming in arts and museum education as a teaching artist and program developer from pre-school through the university level for 20 years, including serving as the Curator of Education at the University Art Museum at Cal State Long Beach for half that time, and has coached teachers in VTS and inquiry-based arts instruction for a decade.

Liz is also a practicing artist, whose work in sculpture and performance has been shown in galleries, museums, and alternative spaces in California, New York, and Italy. Liz is based in Alameda, California, and is a recipient of the California Arts Council Fellowship in Sculpture and two Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department Artist in Residence grants. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fine art with a minor in English literature, along with an Master of Fine Arts in sculpture.
