Prior to joining VTS in the fall of 2017, Madison Brookshire worked at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) in the Education Department for more than nine years. At MOCA, he helped develop the Contemporary Art Start-Visual Thinking Strategies Curriculum; planned professional development workshops for teachers; co-coordinated the MOCA teen program; and programmed a bimonthly collaborative film and video series with Los Angeles Filmforum. In 2017, with Jeanne Hoel, he co-authored the Contemporary Art Start User Guide, an instructional guide for teachers on how to use VTS to implement a community-building contemporary art curriculum in their classrooms. In addition to VTS, he teaches art and art history at UC Riverside and exhibits his films, performances, and installations internationally.
