Xenia Walker (she/her) is an arts implementation coordinator for the Turnaround Arts schools in Rhode Island. She began her work in the state as a middle school drama teacher with the Providence public school district and continued her work through Turnaround Arts, a program of the Kennedy Center devoted to supporting school transformation through the strategic use of the arts. She also provides training in Visual Thinking Strategies in person and online. Prior to her work with the Providence public schools, Xenia’s teaching experience includes both the private and public sectors, where she taught English, drama, and music, and directed choirs and theatrical productions. In her arts implementation role, Xenia is a professional development trainer in arts integration strategies for faculties at three middle schools and the district’s fine arts department. Xenia holds a Literary Studies degree from Skidmore College and a Masters in Teaching from Brown University. Her first name is pronounced Sén-ya.
