What is vtshome.org?
vtshome.org serves as the central hub for Visual Thinking Strategies. This online resource has public pages chock full of information about the history, theory and research of VTS, as well as information about trainings, services, and highlighted projects. The subscription pages contain the full VTS image curriculum, and a comprehensive tool kit with assessment tools, guides, lesson plans, videos, readings, and more.
Can I access the images without a subscription?
The images can only be accessed with an active subscription, by logging in with a username and password. In addition to the VTS Pre-Kindergarten through Grade Eight curriculum images, subscribers can take advantage of additional VTS image sets, courtesy of our museum partners. The subscription pages also contain student assessment tools, printable classroom materials, facilitator reflection tools, research, guides, videos, and a showcase of VTS applications beyond visual art.
Can I watch the Online Summer Series with a web subscription?
Yes. Subscribers have access to the complete series. The full menu is available.
What is the difference between Individual and Group subscriptions?
An Individual subscription is the ideal choice for single users. A twelve month subscription begins on the day purchased. Group subscriptions allow access for up to 50 users. The Group subscription is a great choice for schools, museums, institutions, or other groups or partners working together.
Can I purchase more than one year at a time?
Yes. When shopping for your subscription, you may choose to add a one year, two year, or three year subscription in your cart.
How do I purchase VTS materials?
All VTS materials can be purchased at the SHOP. Look for the SHOP on the white menu bar at the top of each page. You do not need to be logged in to the site to make a purchase.
Can I use a purchase order to shop?
Yes. Schools and institutions can use purchase orders for both materials and subscriptions. A VTS Administrative Coordinator will be available to assist with the process.
Where can I learn about VTS training?
The best place to start is the Training page, which you will find on the white menu bar at the top of each page. The Training page lists all upcoming practicums, workshops, and trainings. We recommend starting with a VTS Beginner Practicum, a program offered on a regular basis in New York City, Boston, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Sonoma.
Do you provide trainings or professional development days at schools, museums, or other institutions?
Yes. Please contact our New York office for information about our customized services and trainings, pricing, scheduling, and availability. Contact Em Miller, VTS Program and Communications Manager, email: emiller@vtshome.org phone: (718) 302-0232
Is there research about VTS?
Yes. The RESEARCH page on the vtshome.org website is an incredible resource. RESEARCH can be found on the white menu bar at the top of each page. On that page, you will find Aesthetic Development research, theory, and method, key studies, reports, and publications. You do not need to be logged in with a subscription to access this tremendous collection of work.
