In 2015, after 20 years as an independent nonprofit, Visual Understanding in Education (VUE) restructured, joining forces with veteran not-for-profit Commonweal to become the program Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), within their portfolio of 12 ventures. Founded in 1976, Commonweal has a 40+ year track record of growing, administering and supporting programs rooted in three areas: education and the arts, health and healing, and social justice. Leveraging a robust administrative and financial infrastructure from a diverse, experienced staff, this partnership strengthens VTS’s ability to meet increasing demand for its services, and to support its expanding network.
