Raquel Rojas, (she/her) is an educator, muralist, and artist originally from the heart of California’s agricultural industry, Terra Bella. She attended UC Davis for her Bachelors in Art Studio and Political Science where she was mentored by Chicano artist, Malaquias Montoya. Raquel received her Masters in Fine Arts at CalState LA, her MA in Art History with a focus on Precolumbian Art, and plans to pursue a PhD program in the future. She has worked with the Art History Society at Cal State LA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Charles White Gallery, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Raquel is interested and inspired by the way in which VTS creates a safe and inclusive environment in which diverse communities can look, speak, and wonder about art.
