Sara Lasser Yau (she/her) has been helping people connect with works of art for twenty years. She first engaged with VTS in 2004 as an educator at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum through their School Partnership Program and has continued to explore how looking at and discussing works of art can create reflective spaces for a wide range of audiences, from PreK-12 students/teachers/administrators to teen docents, physicians, Alzheimer’s patients, and general museum audiences. Having served in the education departments of the Worcester Art Museum in Massachusetts and the American Folk Art Museum in New York, Sara has pursued a particular interest in working with the medical community, employing VTS discussions as a form of mindfulness. She lives in Northampton, MA and holds a BA in Photography/History of Photography from Bard College and MA in Art Education/Museum Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
