Lindsey

Lindsey Palar (she/her) is a lover of humanity, visual art, and the natural world motivated by a desire for access and liberation for all (which, of course, often requires creatively and courageously disrupting harmful power dynamics!). She works as a community organizer and social worker and has learned a great deal by working in solidarity with others on issues such as economic justice, voting rights, and reproductive justice.

Since her teenage years, Lindsey has experienced the transformative and healing power of visual art and deeply believes that art is one of the most impactful tools for social change. As a result of shifts in the world and her life through the pandemic, she is returning to long-held wisdom that art is also healing and connective. She is grateful to have found the VTS community of practice in 2022, and she is honored to be part of the 2024 VTS Trainer Fellowship cohort!

Lindsey values being on a path of continuous growth into anti-oppressive ways of being and believes wholeheartedly in Sonya Renee Taylor’s assertion that, “We cannot build externally that which has not been built internally”.  She lives with her partner, spirited dog, and glamourous cat in West Michigan on the traditional lands of the Three Fires Council (the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi peoples).
