Melissa Tran (she/her) is an artist, educator, and museum professional from New Orleans, Louisiana. She is currently the Youth & Family Engagement Specialist at the National WWII Museum, and has held positions at MOCA Los Angeles, the Museum of Latin American Art, and the Dallas Contemporary where she first practiced VTS. She has attended residencies internationally, in the Arctic Circle and Dijon, France and has exhibited work at Le Consortium, the Texas Biennial at the Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum, Ballroom Marfa, and has sent artwork into outer-space. Tran received her MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio Art from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and her BFA in Photography & Digital Media from the University of Houston. Melissa has three dogs and an innumerable amount of houseplants that bring her great joy.
